Northland Stars March Newsletter

WOW!! Did the Northland Buzz open March in a world wind. Welcome to all the new and returning faces. We look forward to seeing you again. We welcome all quilters, embroiderers, seamstresses, & anyone who can put a needle/glue/? to some kind of project. We are always open to new and improved ideas. So let me show you some of the things that where brought this month.

Doris brought back her Carpenter’s Star with the binding on it. It’s so wonderful to complete a project. This Carpenter Star is one of the classes that they have at the North Store.

Michelle brought her bags that she completed at a recent Quilting Retreat she attended. The Material on the bags are pigs that say “Exercising is Good, But Accessorizing is Better.” I Love It!

Paula also went to a Quilting Retreat and Small Bags were the rage. Which she gave to Rhonda because she likes Kaffe Fassett material.

Terri brought Chuck’s Quilt of Valor.

Heidi, a seamstress, makes fleece shirts for her daughters because it’s cold where they work. Then on her Husband & Her’s 25th wedding anniversary they went on a monarch Butterfly tour. So she made matching shirts. She said she could have sold a 100 on that trip.

Lauren brought a finished aquarium quilt, which was adorable. I think the port holes are just so cute. I can picture my grandchildren with their nose pressed into those port holes looking at the fish.

Barb brought a purse she had made and had altered the pattern. She added an outside pocket. (Who ever heard of a purse without a pocket). She also made a St. Patrick table topper from using Accugo dies. Way to go using the Accugo dies.

Mary brought a bag that you cannot only carry items in but use it as an ironing board. What a great idea. This would be great to carry back and forth to any class you were taking or retreat you were going to. Great job!

Julie brought a clam shell bag to show. These are great bags. This is from a pattern Marlene had in the shop.

Margaret brought her second T-Shirt Quilt for her Grand-Daughter. Margaret always says she is not a quilter but it looks pretty good to me. I say WOW!!!

Rita has been busy for spring. She brought us a Spring table topper, a pin cushion, and a wall hanging from Anita Good Country Farm Designs.

Debbie brought us her last design in a purse. It’s a small clasp purse. ADORABLE. I want to make that. Of course under Debbie’s instructions. She brought some other new purse designs she was trying out as well, to see which one she likes. She also did a laser kit wall hanging.

The North Store is doing a mission sewing project for the Northland Fire Stations. Whenever a child has a tragedy from fire, or any other thing the fire department may be called in on,  things get scary. So we decided to make stuffed animals. If you can iron, stuff, cut, sew you can help. There will be a Charity Sew Day March 26th, starting at 10AM, at the North Missouri Sewing Company store. Hope to see you all there. Oh, and if you have pinking sheers please bring them. See you soon! HAPPY SEWING AND CRAFTING!!
