Northland Stars August Newsletter

The dreary days of August are upon us, which puts all of us in the house. You can look at that one of two ways: This is awful because I can’t go outside, or this is not too bad because I’m getting a lot of sewing done stuck here in the house due to hot weather. Our Northland Stars are the second, they are getting a lot of quilting done.

Rita has been busy making a table topper of baskets and pumpkins, as well as table runners. So pretty in fall fabric colors. Oh my, did she do some adorable denim shirts. Pocket peekers as embroidery on the back yokes. To top things off she tried out her table topper quilt and made a 3D pin flower pin cushion. WooHoo Rita!

Karen, a rather new person to our group but not new to sewing, we are going to call her our artist of the group with her wall hanging.

Terri has gotten her 3D embroidery birds stretched and mounted. They are amazing. The picture doesn’t do them justice. Then Terri made her brother’s 40th anniversary as a priest. Amazing!!!

Kay is another wonderful embroiderer and Quilter in our group. Her color coordination is impeccable. She made this adorable embroidered baby quilt and had two blocks left over, so she made a pillow. Ohhhh so cute…..she is also one of our greatest contributors to the charity quilts. Hers are always specials.

Rhonda, another one of our wonderful members who also quilts and does embroidery, brought us make-up bags this month. They are so functional. She also brought in, for show and tell, an old singer puzzle box that held your sewing machine items. Fascinating!!!!

Wow!! That was an amazing buzz. These ladies are so talented. I always have fun at Buzz, it gets my WOW button and creative thought processes going. September is the beginning of Fall, and the planning for Christmas items. We would love to see you any time at the Buzz!

 Arrivederci  (until we meet again).
