Northland Quilters April Newsletter

Spring has sprung and the Northland Quilters are busy cleaning out their stashes and sewing up beautiful spring designs. Prom is going on and many of the young gals have taken on the challenge to make their very own Prom dress. I am always amazed at everyone’s beautiful handwork. Olyvia, who works part time at the Northland Store, was one of those amazing high schoolers who made her Prom dress. It’s gorgeous!!!

The other exciting thing that has been going on at MoSew North is our early spring charity, which was a great success. Natasha designed these little critter dolls to give to the Gladstone Fire Department (which is close by) where her uncle is the Chief. Northland embroiderers took the flannel and embroidered faces on it. A group of quilters, seamstress, and some ladies from Life Unlimited got together to sew the little critter animals together. There was a great team effort and we did about 50 in two hours.

Rita used up her stash and made a drunkard path quilt as well as a kit she had lying around. She does such beautiful work.

Debbie has been busy teaching classes and quilting too.

Kay does such a wonderful job with color. Who doesn’t love polar bears? She incorporates embroidery and quilting designs into one quilt. What can I say? Fabulous!!

Rita’s Great grandchild is so lucky. First a quilt and now some wash cloths. They are adorable.

Lauren’s working on a new block with material from her stash to make a new quilt. I love the colors of the batiks Lauren.

Judy made these in the hoop. Free bunny egg/candy/toy holders for her grandchildren. They are quick and easy to do. They come from Kreative Kiwi. Get on the site and download yours today.

Ilene made this adorable Easter blanket.

Rhonda has been working on an Elizabeth Hartman bunny quilt. They are so precious.

Terri has a superpower. Her adopted children got this special designed T-shirt made for her. Then she was able to get her birds framed so they can be hung in her remodeling project.

Jo has been busy finishing a baby quilt. It’s so soft and cuddly.

Heidi has been sewing like a maniac. She has two dresses for herself made and pants for her daughter who can’t find pants that fit because she is so long in the waist.

Julie added a bag to match her clam shell zipper pouch she made last month.

That’s all the amazing things our artists are doing in the North for April. We hope to see you in May. Remember the first Saturday of the month is the BUZZ. Come all and join us. Don’t forget to go and see what the Northland Stars are doing at 10 o’clock every 3rd Thursday of the month too. There’s embroidery and quilting going on there. See you all around. Happy sewing & stitching.
