Isolation Gowns

While masks are a very important form of personal protective equipment (PPE) , gowns are also necessary to protect both the wearer and those they come in close contact with from infection. Hospitals, nursing homes, and all types of medical facilities have suffered shortages of this important equipment, but if there’s a silver lining to the recent events it’s the ingenuity and selflessness of people.

Carol Young, of Carol Young Undesigned in Los Angeles and good friend of Missouri Sewing Machine Company, has been putting her talents to good use. She’s been making masks and isolation gowns and dropping them off at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles. And in typical Carol Young fashion, she’s somehow found a way to make personal protective equipment stylish. The pattern for these gowns is at the bottom of this page.

Most importantly, they’ve gotten into the hands of those who need them most.

Here’s some of her masks she’s been making as well.
